When do I have to pay?

Payment must be received in full prior to your departure with the exception of regular dog walking/puppy visit services which are invoiced weekly.  Live in pet sits require a 50% deposit at the time of booking to secure your dates with the remaining balance due before your departure.  No other services require a deposit but cancellation charges may apply in the event of a short notice cancellation (less than 28 days notice).

What is your cancellation policy?

My cancellation policy may be found in section 3 of V.I.Pets Terms and Conditions.

How can I pay?

I can currently accept payment by cash or electronic transfer.  Payments must have cleared my bank before your departure. I do not currently accept cheques.

Are you police checked?

Yes, I have a current DBS (formerly CRB) check.

What are your Terms and Conditions?

A copy of V.I.Pets Terms and Conditions can be found here.

Will you give my pet their medicine?

Yes, I am happy to give your pets any medicines they require including injections.

Do you offer home boarding for dogs?

Unfortunately I am unable to offer home boarding at this time.

Do I need to be at home?

No you don’t.  I can collect a set of keys from you so that your pet can still be cared for whilst you’re out.

Can dogs be walked off lead?

I will only walk dogs off lead with your permission and only if I am happy the dog will respond to a recall signal.  Dogs will only be walked off lead in secure areas.

How many dogs do you walk at one time?

An average group walk is 3-4 dogs.  I am insured for a maximum of 6 dogs.  If you have requested a solo walk no other dogs will be walked at the same time.

What happens in bad weather?

I will walk your dog in all weathers unless it is dangerous to do so e.g. heat waves, heavy snow or thunderstorms.  If I am able to reach your pet I will have supervised indoor play so they still have some social interaction.  If I cannot safely reach your pet I will notify you and no fee will be charged.  If bad weather occurs whilst out on a walk I may shorten the walk and spend rest of the time with supervised indoor play.

What happens in an emergency?

In an emergency I will contact either you or your designated emergency contact as soon as possible and if necessary I will take your pet to the vets as soon as possible. Please note that the owner is liable for all veterinary fees with the exception of third party liability.

What if I get worried about my pet whilst I’m away?

You can contact me at any time during your trip and I will give you an update on your pet.  I am also happy to text or e-mail you with updates whilst you are away.

Do I need to provide supplies?

Yes, please ensure there are sufficient supplies for the duration that your pet is in my care.  This includes food, medications and bedding materials etc.  In the event that I have to buy supplies you will be charged for the cost of the supplies as well as a £5 administration fee.
